Sumbled upon this scene on 15th Street between 5th and Broadway. My woman yelled at me for stopping to take this picture, but I just had to.

Posted by: lajo at December 3, 2003 8:56 PMis that in the east village? somewhere around lafayette or 4th, or astor place...?
Posted by: lajo at December 3, 2003 8:58 PMAs already mentioned, it on either 15 or 16, between 5th and Broadway, which doesn't sound like a trashy neighborhood (and isn't). That awning in the background might actually be a Pottery Barn. But a lot of the cross streets in there are really trashy, with all sorts of homeless, or during daylight hours, homeless droppings.
Posted by: michael at December 4, 2003 9:51 AMahh 15th.
just goes to show that i only read half of what's written, and then remember half of that.
Posted by: lajo at December 4, 2003 12:36 PMit's okay you're stupid, because at least you are loyal.
Posted by: michael at December 4, 2003 12:50 PMyes, one of my better traits.
speaking of droppings, i don't kow if you've ever been to sf, but i've never in my whole life seen, and almost slipped in, as much human scat as in this sespool. in my old neighborhood, in the deeper mission, you couldn't walk four blocks, not four, without someone pissing in between cars.
and what's worse, i eventually got used to it.
